These pants are an experiment.
For this piece from our LAB collection, we wanted to explore the latest technical textile technologies to create the most innovative and high-performance pants possible.
The result is a hybrid product: even more robust than workwear trousers and even more comfortable than any joggers.
Stronger than steel
The story of these pants starts with a visit to our friends of he company IBQ.
This fabric manufacturer in the suburbs of Barcelona specializes in ultra-technical materials for high-tech applications: firefighters, extreme conditions, special forces...
The secret of our fabric? An external Dyneema mesh.
Introducing Dyneema®
Dyneema® is an ultra-strong polyethylene fiber produced using a patented gel rotation process. This remarkable fiber is up to 15 times stronger than steel at equivalent weight. It is also extremely resistant to abrasion, moisture, UV rays and chemicals.
Dyneema is so strong that it is used to make body armor and in tank panels to protect against intense ballistic threats such as anti-tank projectiles.
We use the Martingale Abrasion Resistance Test to determine the rate at which fabrics degrade: a mechanical thumb rubs the fabric repeatedly until the fibers break. The test can go up to 100,000 revolutions, the equivalent of a lifetime of wear and tear.
Normal polyester fabric survives 25,000 turns. This hybrid pants easily exceeds 100,000 cycles.
Extreme comfort
To ensure that these pants are the ones you want to wear every day, this fabric is ultra-stretch and provides amazing freedom of movement.
Take them everywhere and forget you have them on.
Clean and dry longer
We applied a PFC-free certified C0 water-repellent treatment so it will stain very little and you won't need to wash it as often as your other pairs.
On the other hand, this ultra-lightweight material dries in a flash.
Deeply innovative
The other secret of this exclusive fabric is its highly breathable inner side. The three-dimensional weave in fine, soft loops is made with CoolMax technical fiber: a polyester fiber technology with particularly breathable properties.
