AN OUTSTANDING ITALIAN FABRIC
This fabric was made by Manteco SPA, an Italian leading textile company founded in 1943. It was first established, in 1941, as a small spinning mill by Enzo Anacleto Mantellassi, who started the production of recycled wool yarns by regenerating old military garments and covers. And as the years passed, it has become a point of reference in the fashion world, thanks to a high level of creativity, constant research, investments, innovations, and great textile solutions. This fabric was manufactured in a zero-mile and zero-waste network of more than 50 expert textile businesses that represents the quality and reliability of Made in Italy.
100% RECYCLED WOOL
This fabric is made with MWool®, the next-generation of recycled wool by Manteco. It is obtained by mechanically recycling highly selected pre- and post-consumer knits. These are brought back to the fiber state and processed with a special patented treatment which fully sanitize fibers and make them durable, resilient and ensures a long life of color. Different color shades of MWool® fibers are then mixed in specific percentages to create new wool colors, with no additional dyes or chemicals—since recycled garments come already dyed from their former life. Once the new color of MWool® is ready, it is spinned to create new yarns, which in turn give life to new high-end recycled Manteco fabrics.
NO DYE SUSTAINABLE PROCESS
Manteco uses circular, chemicals-free, dyes-free and unique way to create recycled wool colors. When it comes to creating colors in wool recycling, no dye is needed for them, since pre- and post-consumer garments come already dyed from their former life. Through the Recype® process, the artisans of the raw material department manage to divise new wool colors just by mixing different fibers and shades of colors, developing actual ‘recipes’ of no-dye colors that are archived and reproduced over time. Thanks to this technique, in more than 80 years in the field of wool recycling, Manteco has developed thousands of shades.
A WONDERFUL WOOLLEN CLOTH
This recycled cloth has the same great qualities as virgin wool at a fraction of the environmental cost, allowing to save water and energy and reducing the release of CO2 in the atmosphere. Wool is a natural fiber that insulates, breathes and lasts for a long time. It regulates body temperature and wicks away moisture while fighting odors. The handfeel of this fabric is extremely soft and fluffy. The natural stretch will make this jacket the most comfortable of your collection. The wonderful drape of this luxury, breathable and durable fabric will please you every time you wear this piece of clothing.
